Odisha: Fear is still in the heart of the people

Königstein im Taunus 27-03-2017 – Más de  12.000 casas particulares, en 12 pueblos cristianos de la llanura de Nínive, han resultado dañadas por el «Estado Islámico»; 669 quedaron completamente destruidas. Este es el resultado de un estudio realizado por iniciativa de la Fundación Pontificia Internacional «Aid to the Church in Need». Según dicho estudio, los costes que se precisan para los trabajos de reconstrucción ascienden a bastante más de 200 millones de dólares.
En el marco de dicho estudio se llevó a cabo una encuesta, por medio de un cuestionario, entre 1.500 familias que huyeron de las regiones afectadas a Erbil sobre la cuestión de si tienen previsto regresar a sus lugares de origen, ya liberados. Respondieron 1.308 de ellas. El 41 por ciento de los encuestados indicó querer volver a sus pueblos de origen; el 46 dijo que lo estaba considerando. En una encuesta llevada a cabo asimismo por ACN en noviembre de 2016 entre 5.762 refugiados en el propio país, solo tenía previsto volver un 3,28 por ciento de los encuestados, pues en ese momento la seguridad en las regiones liberadas era aún muy frágil y todavía se estaban produciendo luchas armadas.
El 57 por ciento de los encuestados dijo que sus propiedades habían sido saqueadas; el 22 por ciento respondió que sus casas habían sido destruidas. El resto no podía decir nada concreto sobre el estado actual de sus casas y de sus propiedades. Algo más de una cuarta parte de los encuestados (25,46 por ciento) indicó que los terroristas del «Estado Islámico» habían robado sus documentos.
En Erbil se encuentran aún 14.000 familias registradas, que han huido de Mosul y de la llanura de Nínive, lo cual corresponde a unas 90.000 personas, de las originariamente 120.000 en el año 2014. 12.000 familias precisan aún la ayuda humanitaria de ACN.
El estudio realizado por ACN con la ayuda de colaboradores locales de la Iglesia consta de tres partes: en primer lugar se evaluaron los daños causados por ISIS en casas particulares. Les seguirán los resultados de la evaluación en instalaciones sociales como escuelas y clínicas, así como en edificios propiedad de la Iglesia.
