“The Church must propose clearly and courageously to each new generation the vocational call, help people to discern the authenticity of their call from God and to respond to it generously”.
St John Paul II

The Catholic Church must never cease to pray to our Lord that He sends labourers into His harvest. The formation of seminarians to become future priests, and lifelong assiduous care for their personal sanctification in the ministry and for the constant updating of their pastoral commitment is considered by the Church one of the most demanding and important tasks for the future of the evangelization of humanity.

HOW TO SUPPORT A CATHOLIC SEMINARIAN?

The theological training and qualification of seminarians has always been an important focus of ACN’s aid. Your donation will support seminarians in countries where the suitable and continuous training of future priests is endangered or is not adequately ensured due to poverty, war or persecution.

“The Catholic Church is the only one which puts all its efforts to unite Bosnia and Herzegovina.” Gabrijel, a seminarian in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“I had to leave things behind – work, family, everything for a great mission. All for Christ’s love.” Rolisson Alfonso, a seminarian in the Amazon region, Brazil.
“I would like to become a priest to bring consolation to those who suffer, and announce hope to those who have lost everything.” Jean-Claude, a seminarian in Goma, DR Congo.
“Thank you ACN, for supporting us Lebanese seminarians in these difficult times!” Elie, a seminarian in Lebanon.
“I want to focus on being a good priest, a priest that will serve God with everything in me.” Alewa Richard, a seminarian in the diocese of Pankshin, Nigeria.
“I feel the world needs a lot of love. The world needs hope.” José Gregorio, a seminarian in the diocese of La Guaira, Venezuela.

LEARN HOW TO SUPPORT A SEMINARIAN TO BECOME A PRIEST

Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, in 2021 ACN was able to fund a total of 13,381 Catholic seminarians in the world – which means that one in every eight of those studying for the priesthood received support from ACN.
These seminarians received scholarships to pursue their theological formation to become priests. The continuing education of God’s servants is also a priority for ACN and we therefore sponsor the formation of priests who themselves will train seminarians.

Your donation will support Catholic seminarians in countries where their formation is endangered due to poverty, war or persecution.

“God calls each of us to be holy, to live his life, but he has a particular path for each one of us. … The Lord calls some to be priests, to give themselves to Him more fully, so as to love all people with the heart of the Good Shepherd. … I will never forget that day, 21 September – I was 17 years old – when, after stopping in the Church of San José de Flores to go to confession, I first heard God calling me. Do not be afraid of what God asks of you! It is worth saying “yes” to God. In him we find joy!”
